Senate OKs Murse Protection Bill PDF Print E-mail
- February 8, 2010 - A bill that would require harsher penalties for individuals who injure or attempt to injure nurses was passed in the Senate Jan. 25.  Current penal law calls for harsher penalties for those who assault emergency medical professionals, firemen, and police officers. The bill (S.4018/A.3103) would amend the law by expanding the definition of assault on emergency medical professionals to include registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, while also changing the term "fireman" to "firefighter" and including "she" in the definition of those who may cause injury to another person.

Legislation Closes New York’s Budget Deficit by $2.7 Billion PDF Print E-mail
