Sandra's Law PDF Print E-mail
Reported by: WROC-TV - Friday, April 30 2010 - A Rochester custody case is drawing national attention to the rights of children. It's all over a little girl named Sandra, and the debate over where the best place is for her to live.

In a nutshell, Sandra's mom lost custody because she is an unfit parent. Sandra is now cared for by her grandmother in Rochester and an aunt and uncle in Georgia. They share custody.

The aunt and uncle claim her living conditions in Rchester are poor, and that Sandra thrives when she lives with them. Despite that, the court has ordered that Sandra live with grandma in Rochester.

State Assemblyman David Koon and Dr. Bill Sears, a pediatrician, author and nationally recognized expert on family issues, joined us on News 8 at 5:30.
