The Best Rochester Pol Response to Bruno’s Indictment - Rochester Turning - by btp on January 26, 2009 @ 6:35 am :: The award, of course, goes to Assemblyman David Koon: “He had one of the highest positions you can have other than governor and for something like this to happen should send a big red flag that all legislators should open up with who they are working with. This information should be public and we need more transparency in Albany. My first thought when I read the news is that I had a feeling this was going to happen but that doesn’t mean the news didn’t still surprise me.” - State Assemblyman David Koon, D-Perinton
Most everyone played it safe– they were “disappointed” and “we should let the system run it’s course”– with the exception of Joe Robach, who was an open apologist for Bruno, since apparently, money can buy love, or a “get out of jail free!” card.
Of all the local responses, only Koon goes to the root cause: the lack of transparancy in Albany. Now that Dems control all 3 houses in the state house, it’s time to follow Obama’s lead and do business in the light of day.
